When is the wedding, and what are the key dates?
The wedding weekend runs Friday, April 16th through Sunday, April 18th. Check-in is Friday and check-out is Monday, April 19th.
Where will we be staying?
Guests staying on-site will be at Villamena. Guests will have their own private room for the weekend. We'll share how to confirm your stay closer to the date.
What's included in the stay?
Your private room, plus breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the full weekend (Friday through Sunday).
Will there be wifi?
Yes, wifi is available throughout the villa.
Is transportation provided?
Yes — optional round-trip transportation will be available between Rome (airport) and the villa. We'll share pickup windows and how to reserve a seat closer to the date.
Do I need to rent a car?
Not necessarily. If you're using the provided shuttle transportation from Rome, you won't need one for arrival/departure. For Sunday afternoon exploring, you can coordinate transportation with the venue, or rent a car if you'd prefer independence.
How should I plan my flights around the wedding?
We want you to feel free to build your trip around our wedding as best fits you — come early, stay late, add on other stops, whatever works! The one thing to keep in mind: if you'd like to use the shuttle to/from the villa, please plan to be at Rome's airport (Leonardo da Vinci International Airport) Friday morning, as that's when pickup will depart for the villa.
How far is Assisi from Rome?
Assisi is about 2 hours by car from Rome's airport (roughly 124 miles). It's a scenic drive through the Umbrian countryside. This is also the route our shuttle will take, so no need to worry about navigating it yourself if you're using the provided transportation.
Are there airports closer to Assisi than Rome?
Yes. Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi Airport (PEG) is actually the closest airport to Assisi, only about 15-20 minutes away. However, it's a small regional airport with limited flight options, mostly within Europe. We've arranged group shuttle transportation from Rome since it's a major international hub with far more flight options, but if you find a convenient flight into Perugia and would prefer to arrange your own transportation from there, that works too! Florence is another, farther option, roughly 2.5 hours from Assisi by car.
Are kids welcome?
This will be an adults-only wedding weekend. We love your little ones, but we ask that you arrange childcare for the weekend so everyone can relax and celebrate.
What should I wear?
The dress code is garden party formal. Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors, so think elegant fabrics, suits, cocktail or midi dresses, and comfortable-but-dressy shoes. ONE ASK: please avoid wearing burgundy.
What's the weather like in Assisi in mid-April?
April in Assisi is sunny but a bit cool with an average 70°F and nighttime lows near 48°F. Pack layers, a warm coat or jacket for evenings.
Will I have time to explore Assisi?
Sunday we'll have a pizza party and pasta-making class together at the villa as a fun way to enjoy one more meal together before everyone heads off. The afternoon is yours to enjoy! You're free to explore the town of Assisi or nearby towns at your own pace. If you'd like help with transportation for the day, you can coordinate directly with the villa.
